Profile: Southgate Grill at the Chandler Radisson
Today I had lunch with Amy Lees, catering manager for Southgate Grill in the Radisson Hotel in Chandler. I met Amy a couple of weeks earlier at a Chandler Chamber seminar on social networking. She was interested in learning how to use social media to promote the hotel amenities. And I was easily enticed with an offer for free lunch.
My lunch at the grill was awesome. The menu is brand-new and not what you expect for an Arizona hotel—Mediterranean cuisine. The food was delicious. I had a pita sandwich with hummus on the side. I had eaten lunch with another designer at Pita Jungle a few weeks earlier and the Southgate blew their lunch out of the water. The best part is that the restaurant is rarely busy at lunch so you can get in and out quickly or simply enjoy the quiet atmosphere.
In addition to the eat-in restaurant, the Southgate Grill also offers catering services for lunch making it a perfect choice for nearby businesses hosting an in-house lunch. In fact, as I write this I am thinking about using the grill to cater the lunch for an upcoming lunch and learn that I am hosting. (Ooh, I hope that I can make it work!)
You should check out the Southgate Grill or the Radisson in Chandler if:
- You are looking for a delicious, economical Mediterranean restaurant. It is a great choice for lunch since they usually are not busy and they will deliver if you need to cater lunch for a crowd.
- You are out on a weeknight and really want to try something new. The chef prepares daily specials on the weekday evenings. Amy said these dishes are not part of the regular menu but definitely worth a try.
- You need a small to medium sized meeting space in a convenient location. The hotel is directly off of I-10 on Chandler Blvd. The meeting rooms have partitions that easily adjust the space to meet your needs. I looked at a 1/3-size room that was perfect for a small training seminar I am planning.
Thanks for a great lunch, Amy!
