In this 6-week class, you will learn everything you need to create an optimized, easy-to-use, lead generating website including:

• Researching, analyzing and choosing effective keywords
• Analyzing Competitor’s website to learn their secrets to success
• Using WordPress including installation, set up and plugins
• Promoting your site/blog on social media like Facebook and Twitter
• Incorporating media (video, photos and audio) into your website
• Tracking site traffic, Google ranking and keyword strength

What is it? A class where you will create a website or blog using WordPress. At the end of the 6-week course you will have a complete website or blog that you can add to or manage yourself.

What will I learn? You will learn our website building process (the same one we use to build client sites) from start to finish. This includes:

• Researching and choosing effective keywords, categories and tags
• Analyzing your competitors’ websites to learn their secret to success
• Using WordPress; everything from installation and set up to adding content and maintenance
• Choosing, installing and customizing a theme
• Promoting your site/blog on social media like Facebook and Twitter
• Incorporating multimedia (video, audio and photos) into your site/blog
• Tracking site traffic, Google ranking and keyword strength

When do we meet? The class meets once a week (for 6-weeks) for 2-hours per session. Classes start throughout the year.

What materials are provided? A copy of our WordPress how-to book the “WordPress Quickstart Guide” and a workbook with your weekly exercises and worksheets. They both make great references resources once the class is over.

What is expected of me? We provide the knowledge and materials—you bring the computer and manpower. While it is not 100% necessary, students are encouraged to bring a laptop to class. Most of what we teach will be follow-along exercises that require a computer. In order to complete your website in 6-weeks, you will also have to do some homework outside of class. It will take between 1 to 3 hours per week.
